So much so that fans would rather the entire show come to an end than Beckett. Tonight that end came in the form of the Season 8 — and subsequently the series — finale, which was even more of a shock than the news that started the whole thing. And yes, consider very much those quotes sarcastic. It proved to be the final nail in the coffin of a program that had been so fun for six seasons, until it demonstrably lost its way the final two. Even so, that deterioration of their professional partnership never manifested itself on screen, as the natural chemistry between Castle and Beckett never diminished, even when the program was saddled with such boneheaded plots that sought to slowly steer Castle toward a future without Beckett over a period of a couple of seasons.
For those not in the know, Castle centers on a rambunctious playboy novelist, Richard Castle, who gets so inspired by Beckett, a savvy female NYPD detective, that he creates a new character based on her named Nikki Heat and follows her around on her cases for research.

Good finale until the end. A huge let down. I don’t know why we are stuck with this convention of cliffhangers – great shows don’t need a hook to get you back in September. ‘Castle’ Season 8 SPOILERS: Hayley And Beckett Partner Up – Vikram Helps Track Down LOCKSAT
Season 2 Review An improved season filled with strong cases and stronger characters. By Jonah Krakow Castle wrapped up a successful second season pretty much where the last season left off: Still, even though their romantic missed opportunities may have left some fans frustrated myself included , I feel this season was stronger than the first. The crimes were just as puzzling and interesting, but the biggest improvement this season came from including more of the supporting cast specifically Detectives Esposito and Ryan and giving all of the characters a personal connection to many of the cases they investigated.
But because they already dealt with the set-up of Castle and Beckett’s unique partnership last season and the suspension of disbelief it requires, they could skip all those pesky details this time out and head right into solving crimes, particularly those with a personal interest for the characters.

The combination of those three elements, as well as the tightest Case of the Week thus far, results in an emotionally resonant episode that lets Stana Katic shine like never before. Fans have been loving this season, what are your thoughts about it? That, as an actor, is the most satisfying experience. Yes, I agree — and I love it. I feel that those two characters are really meant for each other and really deserve the lovestory that our show is promising. The continual development of the characters will lead us in that direction.
I see them coming together and us experiencing them and a couple and all the complications that come from being a new couple. I think the blockade this year is the theme of the year — everyone has secrets.

For her, it became an obsession. Until she lost everything. She needed to make a decision: Rick Castle or big black cocks.
Castle season 8 has taken an uneven turn with Beckett, played by Stana Katic, leaving Castle, played by Nathan Fillion. The smart detective Beckett sensed danger for her novelist husband Castle if he stays with her and thus, she decided to leave.
And you know, the thing I was most worried about was the kiss. I knew that there were going to be some fans who reacted to the fact that it was a decoy kiss and there are a lot of shippers out there — the relationshippers online who are really rooting for Castle and Beckett to get together — but I want to make sure their relationship develops in the right way. And I think the majority of the fans reacted really well, recognizing that it started out as one thing and ended up as another, so they were able to get what they were looking for without me having to accelerate the Castle-Beckett relationship too quickly.
I think as much as people want them to get together, none of us want to sacrifice the fun of the journey. So we still have a little bit of a journey [to go]. We had a great guest cast, all of our principles showed up and all of our supporting cast did a really excellent job. So I was really pleased with it. It was a great episode. I can understand the reluctance to accelerate the Castle-Beckett relationship too fast, but it seemed like this kiss did move things along its own way.
Obviously if it was an intended romantic kiss, it would be an entirely different situation right now for the show. Yeah, because otherwise it would be game over on their romantic tension. You would have resolved it. So I think that puts us in a really good place to continue this storytelling and continue to ratchet up the stakes as we move towards the end of the season.
And how will the kiss impact Castle and Beckett?
Castle Season 5: What’s Next After Castle and Beckett’s Hookup?
Email The original plan for last night was to take the night off – but, finding myself at home earlier than I was expecting, I settled down to watch Castle on MySky mostly as a way of avoiding The Great Kiwi Christmas Comedy Gala on TV2 and found myself asking one pertinent question by the end of the episode: What would happen if Castle and Beckett got over themselves and just hooked up?
If you missed last night’s episode, the gang investigated the murder of a bridesmaid on the night before a wedding. The catch is that Keira, the bride played by Alyssa Milano – who has aged extremely well, by the way , is Castle’s ex-girlfriend – “the one that got away”. The first took place in the autopsy room, where sassy coroner Dr Lanie hit Beckett up for some gossip about her crush on Castle of course Beckett denied the existence of said crush, but we know better, right?
These scenes put the question of Castle and Beckett’s relationship in the forefront of my mind.
Even so, fans shouldn’t expect an instant hookup between Castle and Beckett. And yet, in Monday’s episode (10/9c, ABC) the two will be hooked up — with handcuffs.
Wow, that actually caught your attention. Cap your pen, Castle. Here at Supernova Con? Perlmutter, good to see you. Ah, if only the feeling were mutual. Ok, yes, I was a sci-fi loving, costume-wearing geek, and you know what?

I thought were were boys! It was funny though because I was so excited to see Nathan again that it was kind of hard to scowl at Castle [laughs]. Is the vibe on set different in those first days back? It can get a little crazy and rambunctious, but we try and keep it professional on set.
Ryan and Espo show up just in the nick, a gun battle breaks out and Castle has to Matrix bathroom wall his way down to save Beckett who is about to be killed by LokSat.
Or, more commonly, just a mustache. Quantum Leap was best described as a “cult hit,” a phrase which here means “financial liability. Bellisario, the producer responsible for both shows, hatched a plan to have Sam Beckett quantum leap into Magnum’s body. Leap was a science fiction show about a handsome nerd that frequently dressed its main character up like a woman and occasionally bridged over into the paranormal. Magnum was a show about an awesome dude who drove a sports car, beat the shit out of people and had sex with all of the vaginas in Hawaii.
It would be hard to convince Magnum, P. You have to earn that mustache! Additionally, Bellisario scrapped the idea when he realized that there was studio interest in a Magnum feature film although the subsequent two and half decades of no Magnum movie seem to suggest that nobody told Tom Selleck about that one, either.
Most of them featured the comedic stoner duo Jay and Silent Bob, whose slouched, speech-impeded antics led to five films and a short-lived cartoon series.
